Healing Betrayal Traumas
Intensive Overview :
The experience of a partner impacted by sexual compulsion within an intimate relationship can be minimized and misunderstood. The primary goal of this Intensive is to provide a structured and safe experience to heal from the effects of betrayal trauma. This intensive will provide multiple opportunities for participants to connect with and expand their felt sense of personal empowerment, authenticity and strength in a safe and caring setting utilizing educational Experiential and Somatic therapeutic modalities.
Intensive Topics :
Betrayal trauma impacts us physically, emotionally, relationally and spiritually. This Intensive will benefit Partner’s who want to better understand and regulate trauma by building internal and external resources. The facilitators are committed to creating a safe and caring setting so that the passageway towards healing supports the genuine truth and pain that betrayal creates.
Through strength based experiential exercises and psycho-education this Intensive will explore the impact of betrayal through a trauma model offering clients a place to explore:
The impact of betrayal on attachment (rupture and repair)
Identifying and releasing grief and loss with group support
Identifying personal strengths and increase felt sense of safety
Develop internal and external resources to regulate the nervous system
Practice "having their voice" through identifying needs and setting boundaries
Improve connection to your body and your ability to listen to its needs
Increase understanding of your triggers and trauma responses
Understand the disease of addiction - separating the addict from the addiction
Creating a vision for yourself – defining an aftercare plan for the upcoming months
Intensive Therapeutic Approaches :
Psycho-drama :
Discover how going beyond traditional "talk" therapy leads to deeper connection with part of self and encourages spontaneity and creativity with the recovery process. Gain new perspectives, release emotional blockages, and develop healthier coping strategies.
Somatic therapy :
Investigate how trauma manifests in the body, using body-based practices to understand the role of secure attachment and how addiction forms in the absence of secure emotional connections.
Psycho-education :
Expand knowledge about compulsion, including understanding how compartmentalization affects psychological well-being.
Group Process and Connection :
Engage in a group-oriented experience that provides emotional connection, real-time feedback, and ample opportunities for fostering insight into your authentic self.
The journey of betrayal trauma can often feel lonely. This Intensive will allow each participant to connect deeply with the other participants which can further enhance our inner regulation and sense of support. This intensive will allow participants to fully immerse themselves in the process to experience increased levels of growth and transformation. Participants will receive the equivalent of months of individual therapy within a 3 day period.
